When you sit in a hall and suddenly notice that your breathing changes, that thoughts become looser, that you are taken to another place. Outsiders was made for those evenings. Ward Dhoore is a multi-instrumentalist, composer, and storyteller. After 15 years of touring through Europe, America, and Canada with various projects, a wider and international audience got to know him through his solo debut album It Was All Heart, which was selected for, among others, the German Critics Award and the World Music Charts Europe. His artistic growth did not go unnoticed in his own country either: Radio Klara selected him for the De Twintigers series. And yet, anyone who has seen Ward on stage knows that his strength lies not in recognition, but primarily in the connection he makes with the people in the hall. In his new album Outsiders (January 2027), that connection remains central. An album for each of us who sometimes feels vulnerable, lonely, or an outsider and is looking for what holds us together despite everything. Instrumental music and narrative connecting texts alternate in a concert that feels like a confidential conversation. Cinematic soundtracks that belong in a world without borders. An invitation to listen, to dream, and to pause for a moment to reflect on what is moving out there. For this show, he brings his regular artistic soulmates with him: Esther Coorevits on viola (Tourist LeMC, Jan Verstraeten), Jan D’Haene on flugelhorn (NTG, Mark Manders), Louis Favre on drums & percussion (Gratitude Trio, Selah Sue), Stanzi Cresens on cello (Guy Van Nueten & Decent Music Ensemble, Anthe). He himself weaves piano, harmonium, and soundscapes through the whole. “Heartwarming, cinematic, and atmospheric music to dream away to, with the potential of a soundtrack for documentaries or nature films.” – Musiczine (BE) “Music created with love and a modern edge.” ★★★★ – Songlines (UK) “Ward Dhoore never disappoints. Music from the heart, for the heart, full of images, comfort, and dreams.” – Folk Magazine (DE) For fans of Ólafur Arnalds, Nils Frahm, Henrik Lindstrand, Poltrock, Balmorhea, Svaneborg Kardyb…
