We found you on the side of the road. Or you searched for us and only then found us. You were lost. Lost everything. But now you are here. In de Hyenalaan. In a white villa, four creatures are ready day and night for every form of care and shelter. A meeting house. A hideout. A warm place where one feels accepted. Where stories collide, where it sometimes rubs and moves, and where occasionally there is also laughter. De Hyenalaan is a performance about caring and taking care. About how we organize that care as a society, but also as a friend, classmate, grandchild, lover, or neighbor. What can we mean for someone? What does social engagement mean? And how do we meet each other? Theatermakers Marlies Tack and Michaël Vandewalle start from encounters and stories about poverty, mental suffering, addiction, and the world of institutions and care agencies. The result is a performance that touches, confronts, and at the same time leaves room for humor and humanity.
