Berlin, 1942. Hilde joins the resistance group 'Die Rote Kapelle'. There she meets Hans and, despite the constant danger to her life, is intensely happy for a summer. When Als de Gestapo arrests members of the group in the autumn, the now-pregnant Hilde is one of them. In prison, she proves to be a stronger woman than she could have ever imagined, and she manages to keep the memory of her beloved alive.
