Keeping It Between Us plunges us into the heart of the Moghaddam House in Tehran, a heritage site where intimate memory, artistic heritage, and historical resonances intersect. Through this residence, transformed on the eve of the 1979 revolution into a house-museum, filmmaker Maryam Shapoorian examines how a domestic space can bear the traces of a history that is both personal and collective, here deeply marked by conflicts. Drawing on over thirty years of correspondence between Mohsen Moghaddam, an archaeologist, and his wife Selma Kouyoumjian, the documentary explores a relationship that unfolds just as much in epistolary exchange as in the art objects, architectural details, and light of this ancestral dwelling. Rather than a historical narrative, the film offers a sensitive experience where memory is built in the details.
