Dust

Luc and Geert are visionary founders at the head of an empire in the late nineties - at the height of the Belgian tech boom. Until they hear that news about their fraud will become public within 24 hours and their speech technology company will collapse. Their last day of freedom becomes a stormy search for redemption with investors, family, and friends, in which they discover what really matters. It shouldn't really be said, but the story of the latest film by Anke Blondé ('Juliet', 'The Best of Dorien B.') smells very much like the spectacular rise and fall of technology company Lernout & Hauspie. The screenplay was written by Angelo Tijssens, who was previously awarded for his screenplays for successful films such as 'Girl', 'Close', and 'Julian'. 'Dust' is also well on its way to becoming an international success, as the film was nominated for a Gouden Beer in Berlin: it has been since 1981 - with Vrijdag by Hugo Claus - that a Flemish film was in the official competition of the festival.
