Charlie Cunningham

Tue, 29 Sept 2026
Minardschouwburg, Ghent
€27–29
On September 29, Charlie Cunningham is coming to the Minard to present his latest album In Light. Charlie Cunningham is one of those artists who you might not immediately see popping up everywhere, but who is meanwhile conquering the large halls. He switches effortlessly between piano and his nylon-string guitar and builds a sound with his melancholic but rhythmic songs that immediately carries you away. Today he has three albums and four EPs to his name, good for more than half a billion streams. For the album In Light he worked with, among others, Leo Abrahams (Brian Eno), drummer Liam Hutton and producer Luke Smith (e.g. Foals, Everything Everything), with a visual finish by Gary Barber. ••••• All the way from the UK he is bringing Sorren Maclean, who has been an indispensable part of the Scottish music scene for twenty years as a guitarist, singer and composer. He has contributed to more than 60 albums and his collaborations extend across the indie and folk scene. Sorren's latest album A Journey Looking Backwards was released in May 2025. For fans of Blanco White, Old Sea Brigade and Stu Larsen.
