Partial solar eclipse

On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, between 7:17 PM and 9:03 PM, a partial solar eclipse will take place. De Maan will then slide exactly in front of the Sun as seen from Earth. In clear weather, the entire eclipse will be visible from Belgium. Naturally, we are providing an extensive observation stand with Astropolis as well as a fascinating lecture on the what and how of a solar eclipse.\n\n6:00 PM - Doors open.\n\n6:15 PM - Lecture: What is a solar eclipse.\n\n6:45 PM - Observing the Sun with telescopes.\n\n10:00 PM - End.\n\nComing to peer at the Sun through our telescopes from our AstroCafé terrace is free, but the lecture is paid!
