There are books that don’t come into being alone. Maison Chaos, the second book by Joëlle Sambi, due to be published in September 2026 by L'Arche Éditeur, is one such book: it carries within it the voices of those who, in earlier times or in other ways, named what was kept silent. This Midi poésie is an invitation to enter into this living genealogy. Alongside Joëlle Sambi — writer, poet and LGBTQIA+ activist — are two women whose work has nourished both the writing and the thinking behind the performance: Axelle Jah Njiké, podcaster, documentary filmmaker, artistic director and author of Journal intime d'une féministe (noire), and Camille Kouchner, university lecturer and author of La Familia grande and Immortels, her second book. She also wrote the afterword to Maison Chaos. An urgent and necessary conversation, moderated by decolonial cultural journalist Gia Abrassart, about what speech can set free when we finally dare to speak. The discussion includes references to incest, sexist violence, sexual violence and domestic abuse.
