Ypres on horseback: theater walks in & around Ypres

Summer 2026 brings us to 'Ieper te paard' (Ypres on horseback). In a time when cars and machines were still a thing of the future, horses formed the beating heart of the city. During this theater walk, we dive into a forgotten but defining period of Ypres' history, where they determined the rhythm of daily life. We bring stories to life in which horses do not just play a role, but are often the silent engine behind change, growth, and even conflict. What was forged here once left its mark — in the streets, in the city, and in the stories that still resonate today. It took shape in a bustling Ypres that was constantly in motion. From busy markets to military preparations: behind the scenes of the city, a horse was always ready. 'Ieper te paard' lets you look with new eyes at a past that is closer than you think - and that you simply don't want to miss. Attention: due to the adventurous route, the walk is unfortunately not suitable for less mobile persons and participation with a wheelchair is not possible in this edition. Strollers are not allowed. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended. Participation in the theater walk is € 54 per person (= theater walk, snacks and drinks during the walk, meal + 1 drink after the walk included). We consciously choose one price so that everyone can enjoy the same story together.
