Tiramisu - Janne Desmet & Tania Van der Sanden

The relationship between two sisters changes abruptly when the eldest announces with great flair that she no longer wants to live. She doesn't yet know exactly what that 'not living' should look like, because she finds dying terrifying. Yet she is convinced that she wants to cease to exist, or almost. The youngest sister, who already had enough to do without this existential bomb, is forced to take on the role of caregiver. Determined to change her sister's mind, she does everything she can to prove that life is worth living and that hope and beauty can be found in the most unexpected places. The title does not refer coincidentally to the original meaning of tiramisu: lift me up, pull me up. Just like the dessert, the performance symbolizes comfort, softness, and the shaky attempts to keep someone afloat. A tragicomic performance that asks heavy questions without losing the light.
