In ’Smeltelings’, bookshelves are full of impossible desire. In de Bibliotheek lovers find what they are looking for: creaking titles, rustling quotes, inspiring stories, and mysterious book spines. Yet it is deafeningly quiet. Would they finally find the words about which love so often makes us stumble? ‘Smeltelings’ is a search for what, after centuries of writing about love, is still left to say. Perhaps it is that one sentence after all, but just phrased a bit differently? ‘Smeltelings’ is the fourth performance by WeThePeople led by Sara Gracia Santacreu. WeThePeople is a social-artistic theater organization from Antwerp that strongly focuses on diversity and inclusion. The company brings people with and without disabilities together to make theater.
