In his new comedy performance, Pieter Verelst gives an honest look at what is really going on in that absurd head of his. Altijd Aan is a recognizable performance about wanting to live, wanting to experience everything, being a lot for others, but still just a little too little for yourself. How do I become normal? Do I even want to be normal? And what is wrong with a little chaos and a unique view of the world? Go in search of Pieter's ‘off-switch’ in that wild, witty jungle of his: his brain!
Over Pieter
Cabaretier, comedian, actor, ... you cannot stick one label on Pieter Verelst. He studied and took his first comedy steps in the Netherlands. In 2014 he debuted with his comedy show Mijn Broer en Ik and immediately won the Groninger Studenten Cabaret Festival. Two years later he also won Cameretten, in the wake of Theo Maassen and Hans Teeuwen. This opened the big gate to Flanders and he was, just like Jade Mintjens, to be seen as one of the eight promises in Voor De Leeuwen (één, vrt).
With his second comedy show Amai and his next, Ten Aarzel, he has put himself on the map for good as a comedian. He receives rave reviews and is seen as one of the most exciting comedians of his generation.
