Carillon concerts: Wim Vandenbroeck Thema: From folk music to pop on 51 bells Wim Van den Broeck (1974) started music studies for organ and carillon at an adult age. He studied organ with Carl Van Eyndhoven and Luc De Winter. Wim studied carillon from 2008 with Teun Michiels at the academy for music and word in Diest and subsequently at the Royal Carillon School in Mechelen, where he was taught by Eddy Mariën (carillon literature-campanology), Erik Vandevoort (harmony and composition), and improvisation with Tom Van Peer, graduating there in 2013. In his home municipality of Meerhout, Wim was awarded the municipal culture prize in 2013 for his diverse musical merits. Wim is currently a carillonneur in Diest, Genk, and Peer.
