In SAbAH, Tomas Pevenage creates a queer cabaret, which takes you from the nightclubs in Beirut to bathhouses in Damascus. He constantly transforms and introduces you to iconic divas. He talks about love, desire and identity. Acteur Tomas Pevenage breaks through the classic image of conflict zones. Besides war and crisis, he also shows beauty, warmth and imagination. SAbAH is a sensory and personal performance. The fascination for Arab divas brought Tomas Pevenage to the Middle East. For ten years, he traveled through Lebanon, Palestine and Syria, among others. De Libanese singer Sabah is his great source of inspiration. Her life and appearance form the heart of this performance. As a singer, film star and feminist icon, she continues to inspire to this day. Besides in the theater, Tomas Pevenage acts in TV series and films: Mijn vader is een saucisse, Putain, Oh Otto! and Holy Shit!. In 2019, Tomas lived in Lebanon, where he studied Arabic at the Levantine Institute in Tripoli.
