IAMDDB IAMDDB is an Angolan-British artist originally from Manchester, considered the initiator of what she calls the “Urban Jazz”, a hybrid aesthetic where contemporary jazz, hip-hop, trap, and R&B meet in the same organic flow. At the crossroads of disciplines, she develops a musical and stage practice that goes beyond traditional formats, also integrating a performative and visual dimension. Revealed in 2016 with Leaned Out, she quickly established a singular sonic identity, blending hazy harmonies and modern rhythms. The viral success of Shade in 2017, as well as her notable performances on COLORS, confirm her rise and her ability to create an immediately identifiable universe. Collaborating with artists such as Masego, Diplo, Lauryn Hill, Bryson Tiller or Jhené Aiko, IAMDDB is part of an international dynamic while maintaining an independent approach. Through several EPs and a series of singles, she explores a wide spectrum of influences ranging from neo-soul to reggae, including house and experimental jazz.
