Commedia dell'arte camp

You learn to be better linked to your body and your inner world. You develop movement and voice, put together by breathing, as resources to express yourself. Commedia dell’arte was born in Italy around 1550. For the first time in the history of theater, the actors are exclusively professionals, hence the precision "dell’arte". The unfolding of the show is fixed by the canvas and the different scenes are improvised. The performance codes of the commedia are part of the foundations of theater. While classical tragedy seeks the right human behavior in the face of difficult ethical questions, commedia dell'arte is playful and physical in nature. It emphasizes pleasure and brings to light the small and large imperfections of man. Enter the scene: the old miserly merchant Pantalone, the braggart captain, the presumptuous doctor, the cunning valet Arlequin, and other male and female characters. Molière, Goldoni, Shakespeare, Goethe... were inspired by these characters. The character's mask allows us to find his typical body attitude, his gestures, his gait, his voice and language, his way of thinking and feeling, his behavior toward others. You will be able to discover several different masks or focus on one to create a character with multiple layers and facets. Learning is done through experience and we try to find what this ancient art form has to do with us today. The training is interesting both for neophytes and for people who have already participated in previous training. Each participant receives individual coaching that allows him to know himself better and to improve his functioning as an actor. To bring the mask to life, you have to play big. Forgetting doubts and fears, you will begin to express yourself freely, drawing from your inner resources, with the belly as a pilot. The teacher: Phil Kaiser has been teaching for over 25 years. He acquired his experience as a teacher at the "Kleine Academie" in Brussels (three-year professional theatrical training), at the scenography department of the Ecole Nationale Supérieure of Beaux Arts "La Cambre", also in Brussels, as well as at the dance academy "Erika-Klütz-Schule" in Hamburg. Various institutions in Belgium and Germany invite him punctually as a pedagogue. Phil Kaiser is also an actor, director, and author. He has designed and directed numerous theatrical productions that have toured in Belgium and abroad. He studied at the Ecole Supérieure of Beaux Arts in Hamburg and at the Kleine Academie in Brussels. In Berlin, he followed a breathing teacher training. He also holds a State diploma as a movement and dance teacher. Since 2016 he has been leading the Atelier de l'Acteur.
