Oona Maeve

This young band already shone on our stage last year! And we are happy that they are coming back with their new music! Oona Maeve is the alter ego of Lien Schoonis. Lien is a vocalist and songwriter with a passion for music from a young age. Her musical journey began with exploring pop music, where she was inspired by the catchy melodies, beautiful lyrics, and the lighthearted atmosphere. She soon discovered jazz as well, and realized that her passion lay here too. She studied jazz vocals at the Antwerp Conservatory. Here, she became very fascinated by improvisation and the emotional depth that jazz music can bring, and decided to add these elements to her own repertoire. During her musical journey, she was also incredibly inspired by soul voices like those of Donny Hathaway, Prince, and Stevie Wonder. Met Oona Maeve she has found her own sound with which she likes to play with contrasts and influences from pop, jazz, and soul music. On stage, she is accompanied by her band, including Samuel Coormans (keys), Jasper De Roeck (bass), Hans Schoonis (guitar), Jens Wierckx (drums), and backing vocals Joanna Koziol and Victoria Garduño. Together, they create a warm, surprising sound that you don't want to miss.
