Carmen, rebellious bird – Opera-circus

Carmen, rebel bird Opera-circus Based on Bizet’s opera – With Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège and the acrobats of Cie Back Pocket Dans, a rehearsal of Carmen that goes off the rails, 10 musicians, acrobats, and children come together to reinvent one of the greatest operas in the repertoire. Upon entering the hall, the audience is plunged into the heart of a hectic rehearsal: an overwhelmed assistant tries to organize things while the musicians gradually settle in. Little by little, fiction creeps into reality and Carmen’s story takes shape until tragedy seems inevitable. But Carmen’s ghost intervenes: what if we changed the ending? To the music of the Suites no. 1 and 2 of Georges Bizet, this participatory concert-performance mixes music, theater, and circus in a free and contemporary reinterpretation. Guided by the performers, the spectators sing, react, and take part in the action. An immersive, sensitive, and playful experience that reveals the expressive power and physical dimension of live music. From age 5
