Opening of the exhibition "Threads and forms" by Ama Dewolf
Wed, 10 Jun 2026 · 15:30
Place communale 1, Lasne
Since always, Ama Dewolf has maintained a special relationship with thread. Trained in fashion design and creation at the national school of La Cambre, she took her first steps in the world of clothing, while developing a passion for knitwear.
Over the years, thread has remained her central language. She mixes various techniques (tufting, embroidery, weaving, crochet, macramé, punch needle) and experiments with a wide variety of formats and media. Words also occupy a unique place in her work, through a semi-abstract alphabet she designed, leaving the viewer the freedom to project meaning onto it.
Through her works, Ama Dewolf questions our perception of the world: what we choose to show, but also what we decide to see. She explores notions of memory, the collective unconscious, as well as the boundaries between the visible and the invisible.
The public is invited to discover this universe during the exhibition opening, on Wednesday, June 10 from 5:30 PM to 8:00 PM, in the wedding hall of the municipality of Lasne. The exhibition will also be accessible by appointment on weekdays, from June 3 to September 4.
