The year 3400. The sun no longer rises. The grass has disappeared. The globe is at rest and will awaken again in an unknown number of light-years. In this intermediate zone, the gummy is the living creature on earth. The gummies live in peace and harmony. They laugh, toil, amuse themselves, crawl close together, looking for warmth, doze off, and now and then stomp around recklessly. They are sometimes grim, but after munching on a tasty snack, they leave the dispute behind again. They whine and cry in the depths, tell in soft murmurs and cackles about something that once was and will yet come. Ballet Dommage and Suze Milius choose a utopian, alienating world in GUMMI. A universe in which conflict is not part of the plot and in which nothing is at stake. No catharsis or total ruin. The spectator sees the small scenes and daily rituals of peaceful beings in a no-man's-land where everything seems as it is.
