Carillon / Twan Bearda - Capriccio Espagnol

This carillon concert is a wonderful journey through the history of classical music, from the Baroque to modern film music. The program opens atmospherically with the famous Adagio and then takes the listener past masterpieces by Joseph Haydn and Johann Sebastian Bach. Particularly special is the sparkling Allegretto van Bach, which was published in the Lommels Beiaardboek (2000–2025). The rhythmic Capriol Suite and the spectacular Capriccio Espagnol are the highlights of the concert. The evening concludes with the recognizable sounds of Cavatina. Twan Bearda (1973) graduated in 2002 from the Koninklijke Beiaardschool Jef Denyn in Mechelen. He began his studies in 1991 with Peter Bremer and later took lessons with Eddy Mariën and Boudewijn Zwart. In 2003, he obtained the Eerste Prijs in the prestigious Koningin Fabiolawedstrijd for Carillon. Together with Luc Rombouts, carillonneur of the university carillon in Leuven, he has formed the four-handed duo The Bells Angels for 25 years. Since 2009, he has been the city carillonneur of Grimbergen. In daily life, Twan works for a consultancy firm in the energy sector. Listening spot: church square and surroundings Tip!
