Carillon concert: Carl Van Eyndhoven

Sat, 15 Aug 2026 · 18:30
Binnenkoer - De Zwaan, mol
Free
In the program for this High Day, Carl Van Eyndhoven is inspired by the composer Jan van Dijk, whom he met for years in Tilburg. But works by Flemish composers such as Flor Alpaerts and Gaston Feremans are also programmed. In addition, Carl will improvise on a number of songs by Michel Legrand. And how could it be otherwise, that a work by his favorite B. Bartók concludes the concert. This concert is preceded by an organ recital from 6:30 PM - 7:00 PM. In the organ program for this Mariale Hoogdag, Carl emphasizes Gregorian hymns a number of times. He is assisted in this by Schola Gregoriana Catabo of the Antwerp Cathedral. They sing the alternatim part in several of the programmed works. Carl is a former dean of Luca School of Arts (KU Leuven), where he is active as a carillon teacher. He obtained his PhD in 2012 on the performance practice of seventeenth-century carillon music. He is a carillonneur of Tilburg (Netherlands) and from 1991 to 2024 he was a carillonneur of our municipality. He gave concerts all over the world. In 2017, he recorded the CD 'Django Bells' together with the jazz manouche ensemble Minor Sing (France). He is chairman of the Béla Bartók Archief van België – Fonds Denijs Dille.
