Pelt Jazz - Stadlander

Stadlander is the brainchild of the Ghent jazz pianist Stijn Engels, who could no longer leave the urge to share his own compositions with the outside world unanswered. For several years, Stijn looked for the right lineup to interpret his music, but only in the spring of 2020 did the puzzle pieces fall into place. Met Stijn Demuynck on drums, Kris Auman on double bass, and Bruno Van Der Haeghen on tenor sax, the band Stadlander saw the light of day. The music of Stadlander takes you on an imaginative journey and tries to linger with their warm, narrative melodies and colorful harmonies. Lyrical, impressionistic, sometimes exuberantly rhythmic, rooted in the rich jazz tradition where a wink to the blues is never far away. It is music that leads to introspection, but also wants to celebrate life. Music that demands your attention, asks for involvement, but leaves you unburdened.
