Belgian singer-songwriter Daan has been surprising his audience for about thirty years now, through intrusions into all genres and languages; indie-rock, electronic pop, country, pop art, film soundtracks, often in English but also in French and Dutch.
In search of the common thread in his very varied work, this tour shows that there are always recurring ingredients: melancholic lyrics but full of humor and visual metaphors (Daan is a graphic designer by trade) and also a desire to evoke almost baroque emotions in his melodies.
This tour transforms and brings together all the pieces in the same way: Daan on piano and guitar, the one-man band Jean-François Assy (Alain Bashung, William Sheller, Yann Thiersen) creates an orchestral world, looping and torturing his cello, while the ravishing Isolde Losoen, faithful companion on the road of Daan for 25 years, evokes a fairy-tale world combining vibraphone, percussion, trumpet, bells, and her angelic voice.
This acoustic trio tour allows Daan to reveal himself more. The crooner creates here a cabaret full of emotions and orchestral ecstasies. Every evening offers surprises, Daan drawing from the some 300 songs he has written himself, but also by performing unexpected covers.
