Cummings and goings

Cummings and goings brings the poetry of E. E. Cummings to life in an intimate, almost ritual setting. Acteur Josse De Pauw gives voice to Cummings’ experimental language, while drummer Eric Thielemans with searching percussion and stuttering grooves and composer-pianist Kris Defoort with his mix of composition and improvisation create a musical landscape that is as free and groundbreaking as the poems themselves. Three unique performers - speaking, singing, playing - add their own meaning to Cummings’ groundbreaking work. The performance is staged as a concert where each artist wears headphones, giving the audience the feeling of being present at an intimate recording session: introverted, expressive, resonant.
