They circle like rutting deer around each other and treat the audience to a range of feelings. Is there a bigger fool than one in love? Dimitri Leue ventures with great pleasure into the courtly art of seduction of Maurice Maeterlincken pushes Frank Focketyn and Rashif ElKaoui into the harness of love. The two master actors tumble light-footedly through this playful love story, where threat is also never far away. Toen Maeterlinck won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1911, the jury mentioned that his plays “were characterized by an abundance of imagination and poetic refinement”.
