De Brug Van Vroenhoven, Vroenhoven (Riemst)

Every bridge over the Albert Canal was defended during World War II, the most important ones by a bunker with, among other things, an anti-tank gun and a heavy machine gun. The bunker of Vroenhoven was manned by the Regiment Grenswielrijders. From inside the bunker, one could also light the fuse that caused the explosive charge in the bridge pillar to explode. A guide will also be present downstairs in the amphitheater and will give the introductory explanation. Afterwards, you can also visit our experience center.
