Michal Ciesielski

Michal Ciesielski is an internationally acclaimed Polish composer, arranger and jazz pianist from Gdansk, based in Brussels. His work moves at the intersection of jazz, contemporary classical music and cinematic sound worlds, and is characterized by refinement, lyrical depth and a distinct artistic signature. After studies in jazz composition and piano at the Muziekacademie van Gdansk and further specialization at the Jazzinstituut van Katowice, he built an international career. Between 2018 and 2022, he was active in Beijing, where he taught jazz piano at the Beijing Contemporary Music Academy and collaborated with leading musicians. With his ensemble Confusion Project, he released five albums and performed in Europe, Asia and the Verenigde Staten. His work unites virtuosity and imagination, and positions him as a striking voice in contemporary European jazz.
