hogeschool Odisee, Brussels
This training course is aimed at professionals who encounter aggression, conflicts, or escalating behavior in their work, such as educators, teachers, supervisors, and care providers. It is based on the principles of Nieuwe Autoriteit and Non Violent Resistance (Geweldloos Verzet) of Haim Omer.
During the training course, you will learn:
how conflicts arise and why they sometimes escalate;
to critically examine your own role, attitude, and communication in conflict situations;
to exercise authority from presence, connection, and clarity instead of control or punishment;
to apply non-violent strategies to prevent or break escalations;
to work in a restorative manner and use support networks according to the principle "It takes a village to raise a child";
to apply the learned methodologies to your own practical examples and cases.
Afterward, you will have concrete tools to maintain calm in difficult situations, set boundaries without damaging the relationship, and deal sustainably with challenging behavior in a professional context.
