Prinses Nee! lives in two palaces: one with mom and one with dad. So she should feel at home twice, but it doesn't feel that way. Every week she moves back and forth, with her things, her thoughts and her own rules. Fortunately, there are also 1 and 2, two special figures who try to bring her home. In this playful performance, Mona Lahousse, Jonas Leemans and Dimitri Leue make a fairy tale out of the life of a girl with divorced parents. With a lot of imagination, humor and music, they show how great grief can sometimes be, but also how comfort and play can help. ‘Are there any children present here who eat fruit salad every day with a golden spoon with fresh fruit from all over the world, cut so finely that I don't have to chew and then poured over with a raspberry coulis and decorated with three exactly equal mint leaves? No! Of course not. You guys get to eat a sandwich or cornflakes sometimes. Lucky ones!’ Prinses Nee! moves every week. Or rather, she ‘palaces’ weekly from her mother’s palace to her father’s palace or vice versa. She should have two ‘homes’, but it doesn't feel that way to her. She is lost for a moment. Two men try to bring her home. They call themselves 1 and 2, but they are clearly much more. ‘I have everything double, so I never have to move anything! Except my diary, I only have that once. I lost a sock at both my palaces. And then they wanted to throw the other one away, but then I said, oh no! Those are my spare socks. I wear those when I go from one palace to the other. So now I have them on. You can't see that, but the left one comes from the mom palace and the right one from the dad palace.’ Mona Lahousse, Jonas Leemans and Dimitri Leue make a fairy tale out of the life of a girl with divorced parents. Fantasy and playfulness are not the packaging of reality, no, they peel away the pent-up grief and the uncontrolled anger to arrive at acceptance. ‘What are your favorite chips? If I ask my dad that, he says: ‘My favorite chips are many. Many chips. Much tastier than few chips.’’ The music of Antoon Offeciers whips the whole story up into a swinging journey and the costumes of Katinka Heremans (De Maan) bring characters to life that you have never seen before.
