With a view of the beautiful kasteel Hof ter Linden, we start our walk via the castle park to the Dikke Berthabos. We pass Fort 5, one of the forts that were established by the government in the second half of the 19th century as a defensive belt around Antwerp.
We walk briskly for a while to reach Kasteel Arendsnest: the castle is not accessible, but as a "pleasure garden" from the 15th and 16th centuries, it is worth a look.
Soon we approach a small but nice nature reserve: the Edegemse Beekvallei: a biodiverse area of 7 hectares with a water pool and a boardwalk. Ideal for observing a variety of plants, birds, insects, ... Our walk brings us back to the center of Edegem, where we can quench our thirst in brewery café "Hoogmis" or Brasserie Hof ter Linden.
