Kerktoren Wilmarsdonk opens its doors The church tower of the Sint-Laurentiuskerk: for years a lonely and lost remnant of Wilmarsdonk, surrounded by containers. The tower had fallen into disrepair after years of vacancy, until it was restored a few years ago by Port of Antwerp-Bruges. The tower is 'in good hands' and lives on as a symbol for the disappeared polder villages. Due to its unique location on an operational terminal, the installation can only be viewed at exceptional moments. Tijdens Open Monumentendag we are exceptionally opening this gem. Practical info: You can visit the site and the small church freely during your chosen time slot. The visit is free, but you must register in advance. Sunday, September 13, between 10 AM and 6 PM. There are no facilities for eating or drinking present. Sanitary facilities are provided. Accessibility: Young and old are welcome. The site is accessible to everyone. Note, however, the church tower can only be reached via a narrow spiral staircase. There is no elevator present. This event is unfortunately not suitable for those who have difficulty climbing stairs. Pets are not allowed.
