Starsailor emerged in the aftermath of the Britpop explosion and is undoubtedly one of the bands that led British music in the early 2000s. Debuutsingle Fever immediately provided musical fireworks and forced the big breakthrough as ‘Britain’s best new band’. The albums Love is here (2001) and Silence is easy (2003) with solid sing-alongs like Four to the floor, Tell me it’s not over, In the crossfire, and Silence is easy were successful worldwide and resulted in, among other things, a tour with the Rolling Stones. With their timeless melodies, compelling lyrics, and an impressive live reputation, Starsailor effortlessly captures the essence of melodic British pop-rock. The heartbreaking voice of James Walsh - with a range like Jeff Buckley, but rawer and more lived-in - finds a perfect balance between vulnerability and greatness. The kick-off was two concerts with an orchestra, which also resulted in the album Starsailor with strings – Live in Liverpool.
