Dez Mona Café Lucienne concerts

MUSIC - Dez Mona is a Belgian band around singer Gregory Frateur, known for their unique and genre-transcending sound in which jazz, gospel, pop, and avant-garde flow together. Since their founding in 2003, the group built a strong reputation with intense, theatrical music carried by Frateur's expressive voice and a distinct artistic vision. Their discography reflects a continuous artistic evolution. Early albums such as Pursued Sinners (2005), Moments of Dejection or Despondency (2007), and Hilfe Kommt (2009) combine intimate torch songs with influences from gospel, jazz, and chanson. With the ambitious project Sága (2011), they explored a more theatrical, almost operatic form, followed by the more accessible and rock-oriented A Gentleman’s Agreement (2012). Op Origin (2015) the band returned to the essence, while Book of Many (2019) became a layered and emotionally charged record around themes such as love, loss, and hope. In recent work, Dez Mona continues to reinvent itself: Loose Ends (2022) shows a surprisingly playful and rhythmic side with influences from funk and disco, while newer releases such as Under the Surface (2025) confirm their continuous urge for innovation. Throughout their releases, Dez Mona continues to balance between intimacy and experiment, with each record forming a new chapter in a quirky and ever-evolving artistic path.
