Our town hall: resilient through the centuries | 2 PM

Sun, 13 Sept 2026 · 14:00
Gemeentehuis, Aartselaar
Free
Het Wolffaertshof dates from the 16th century. Originally it was a pleasure court and subsequently for almost 300 years the rectory. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog the building suffered damage and the heritage was in danger. Thanks to care and repurposing, it was given a new future after the war as our town hall. In the 70s, the town hall proved too small and a new modern building was added. Together with the guide, you will discover both buildings and the contrasting interplay of two very different architectural styles, a story of vulnerability, resilience, and renewal. Come and discover the town hall of Aartselaar during Open Monumentendag. The tour takes place four times. Register for the time of your choice. • Target group: Everyone who wants to get to know the town hall of Aartselaar (Note: the tour is not wheelchair accessible) • Start times: 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, 1:00 PM, and 2:00 PM • Duration: Approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes • Departure and end point: Gemeentehuis Aartselaar Baron van Ertbornstraat 1, 2630 Aartselaar
