Lepoutre Quarter: the little Brussels Paris

Sat, 12 Sept 2026 · 14:00
Angle de la chaussée de Waterloo et de la rue de Tenbosch, Brussels
€10–15
The avenue Louis Lepoutre in Ixelles constitutes the backbone of the Berkendael district. Its mansions and apartment buildings, commissioned by an elite on the eve of the First World War, are very representative of an era and an art of living “the Belgian way,” inspired by Paris, but not only. This district, where the Beaux-Arts style is king, possesses an exceptional “turn of the century” heritage as well as some masterpieces, such as the Wolfers house designed by the architect Henri Van de Velde.
