Processie Brugse Belofte

Every year on August 15 (Assumption of Mary), the Brugse Belofte moves through the streets of Bruges. The procession departs around 9:30 AM at 't Zand to the Zuidzandstraat. There, the personalities who attended the solemn mass in St. Salvator's Cathedral join in. Then it goes via the Steenstraat to the Markt, the Vlamingstraat, the Academiestraat, the Jan van Eyckplein, the Spiegelrei, and the Lange Rei to the Potterierei. At the border of the former parish of Our Lady of the Potterie, the candle is solemnly handed over around 11 AM. After the prayer service (around 11:30 AM) in the chapel of Our Lady of the Potterie, the procession returns via the Potterierei, the Genthof, the Jan van Eyckplein, the Academiestraat, the Vlamingstraat, the Markt, the Steenstraat, the Zuidzandstraat, 't Zand to the Smedenstraat.
