Film evening 11.11.11 A Sad and Beautiful World

On Tuesday, November 10, Hertsberge Mondiaal is organizing a special movie night in support of 11.11.11. We are screening the award-winning fiction film A Sad and Beautiful World (directed by Cyril Aris). Yasmina and Nino grew up together in Beirut. Their paths were separated by the war, but twenty years later they meet again. Terwijl Yasmina dreams of a new life abroad, Nino Verknocht remains attached to his city and his beloved bistro. Against the backdrop of a crumbling society, they search together for what it means to start over. A Sad and Beautiful World is the winner of 21 international film awards (i.e. awarded at the film festivals of Venice and Tromsø) and was described by the press as a bittersweet Lebanese love story: "Beautiful, wistful, and irresistible". A gripping film about choices in a changing world.
