On Tuesday, September 22, Amazone, Solidaris, and Soralia are organizing a film screening of ‘The Day Iceland Stood Still’. The screening will be followed by a thematic game about women's rights in two languages (FR/NL).
This documentary tells the story of the iconic women's strike in Iceland. On October 24, 1975, more than 90% of Icelandic women stopped working to demand more equality. They also refused to cook, take care of the children, or do housework. The strike sent a shockwave through the country, and Iceland came to a complete standstill. The documentary tells the story of those who were there.
