Desguin Quartet

Anton Webern (1883-1945) Langsamer Satz Sergey Prokofiev (1891-1953) Quartet No. 2 in F major, op. 92 Between post-romantic lyricism and 20th-century modernity, this program explores two contrasting faces of the string quartet. Composed in 1905, Anton Webern's Langsamer Satz reveals a language still deeply marked by the romantic heritage. Written in 1941, Prokofiev's Quartet No. 2, op. 92, is inspired by popular melodies from the Caucasus. The composer transforms this material into music with an incisive rhythmic relief, especially in the finale where the strings sometimes adopt an almost percussive articulation.
