We are introduced to the world of little Maria, who started ballet school at the age of six and learned tap dancing at nine. Maria, who has always loved singing and climbing trees – and whose current favorite hobby is roller skating. We are introduced to the skills of someone who rolled into the circus world as a teenager and graduated from the Academy for Circus and Performance Art in Tilburg in 2020. In her first solo, Maria brings all these disciplines together to tell a layered story in which control, vulnerability, pain, and poetry coexist. Old memories are retrieved and playfully transformed with the voice and body she has today. Maria Madeira (1997, Lisbon) is a circus and dance artist. She graduated in 2020 from ACaPA (Tilburg), where she combined dance and circus into dance acrobatics. Her work explores the relationship with the floor and gravity. KIEM superfan?
