In this world cobbled together with total freedom, anything can happen: situations spiral out of control, disasters follow one another, dialogues fly, and logic seems to have taken a leave of absence from the very first minutes. Governed by the great law of the absurd, the film displays a surreal, scathing, and deeply delightful Belgian humor. But behind the general panic, the chases, and the unpredictable gags, it is also about love and friendship. Entirely driven by an artisanal spirit, A Town Called Panic also impresses with its production: 260 days of preparation and filming, 144,000 images, 1,500 figurines, thousands of miniature bricks, skewers, screws, glue, plasticine… A joyful construction site that became a cult film, where handmade meets the genius of nonsense.
