Visit an old castle where time has stood still for 100 years. What does a castle where time has stood still for 100 years offer: a vast park with trees like in a painting, a romantic pond bridge, a dressing room by a stable where horses used to be harnessed, a chapel where a saint is kept (at least what remains of it), a greenhouse where grapes ripen as in Eden, a forest with veteran trees that command silence… Practical info: The walk through the domain starts at 10 AM. So be on time. If you come by car, you can park on the domain, by the old horse stables. Same for bicycles. The first entrance gate (coming from Poperinge) at Couthoflaan 50 will be open. We will show you the way to the parking lot there. In case of rain, you should of course provide a raincoat with a cape, but certainly also appropriate footwear: walking shoes or boots. There are no toilets on the domain. So be prepared. Deer live in the domain. This means that ticks also live there. Check yourself for a possible tick at the end of the day. Accessibility: We are visiting a somewhat adventurous route: a forest path that winds through the former park, a ruin that is ready for restoration, a lawn without manicured grass.
