Théâtre des 4 Mains / Théâtre de la Guimbarde Spectacle young audience | Accueil Un tribute to all the grandmothers of the world. "Yaaba" means "grandmother" in the Mossi language in Burkina Faso. On stage, two grandmothers: Halimata, from Burkina Faso, and Marie-Odile, from Belgium. They sift through memories through little stories, they joke, revisit family legends, and perform original tales. They speak, sing, play, and manipulate the elements of the set design like a big game of interlocking objects. Imperceptibly, their roots appear, connecting them, differentiating them. Between the origin of life, the earth, aging bodies, the bonds between the living and the dead, and the love of grandchildren, there is so much to say and laugh about. Yaaba is the fruit of a multicultural collaboration between the Belgian cultural venues Théâtre de la Guimbarde and Théâtre des 4 Mains, and the Pan-Taabo du Burkina Faso Cultural Center. A meeting between two continents, a dialogue between two cultures. And for us, the pleasure of welcoming our friends and neighbors from the Théâtre des 4 Mains. Ages 4 and up – Duration: 45 min
