Claudette (6-106) - Cie Balancetoi

Claudette is a moving ode to getting older, to wrinkles that carry stories, to a life that shows itself in layers, and to a whole generation of grandmas. Claudette tells the story of an older lady who resists her loneliness, while she gets ready for her 90th birthday. It is the story of a grandchild and a dreamy grandma. A grandma who is tired of sitting alone every day and eating soup day after day. She wants to feel lively again. To show herself again. To be seen again. The performance weaves juggling and puppetry into a poetic, moving experience. Claudette wants to give the elderly a voice and visibility again. A warm plea for intergenerational connection, and for the soft, playful bond between grandchildren and grandparents. Tender and rich in memories. We consciously leave our theater hall to bring this performance into the living environment of quite a few elderly people. That is why we are going to two diverse WZC: Bruegeldal in Itterbeek and Dil’home in Dilbeek. Welcome.
