(And tomorrow was the party!) is a sparkling theater performance in which the world of cake, beechnuts, and endless partying is brought to the stage in a picturesque and musical way. Short stories with a lot of fun and humor, each one a gem by Toon Tellegen with their well-known philosophical approach and unusual surprising lines of thought. About… Squirrel and Elephant who, shivering from the cold, invite spring by writing her a letter: Beste Lente, Where are you? We would like you to come here quickly, we are cold!! You haven't forgotten us, have you? Sincerely, Squirrel and Elephant PS: If you want, you can bring summer with you right away. About very special questions that Squirrel asks Elephant… Why do you have a trunk and I a plume tail? Why can't a bird fly backward? Why do trees always grow upward and not sideways? Why does the sky never collapse? About the longing for a cake that is SO big that you can't look over it… and of course about an endlessly long and big PARTY! Anna’s Steen, the company around Bart Embrechts, makes theater for young children that often starts from high-quality youth literature. They create theater where the audience leaves the hall happy: accessible, light-footed, surprising… with always that little bit more so that the ordinary becomes extraordinary, often supported by live music. Anna’s Steen has already adapted texts by, among others, Toon Tellegen, Gerda Dendooven, Max Velthuijs, Sylvia Vanden Heede, and Ted van Lieshout.
