Landscape Reading Dikkelvenne

Dikkelvenne lies on the border between the kouters (fields) of Merelbeke/Oosterzele and the Scheldt valley in Gavere/Meilegem. When you drive through the village by car on your way to Gavere of Zwalm, you would not suspect that the landscape to the north and south of the busy road is such a peaceful place and hides a historical story. The walk goes along slow roads through the fields and past the Baudries castle. Then you dive into the Scheldt valley. We not only read the landscape by looking at objective natural and cultural elements, we also reflect on the subjective experience and the relationship between man and landscape.
