Shitkid

ShitKid is the project of Åsa Söderqvist, a Swedish artist originally from Gothenburg, whose singular trajectory oscillates between punk urgency, DIY pop, and more melancholic detours. Conceived from the start as a time-limited parenthesis, ShitKid was initially supposed to exist for "five to seven years" before giving way to a more stable life, outside of music. Between 2016 and her first break, the project unfolded at a frantic pace: lo-fi recordings on a faulty computer, dreamy and strange pop of Fish, introspective minimalism of This Is It, or even the teenage energy of [DETENTION], made with Lina Molarin Eriksson. In parallel, ShitKid established herself on the stages of Roskilde, SXSW, or Way Out West, while attracting critical attention and a discreet but growing cult following.
