Forest and vineyard walk (8 km)

Walk with us through the beautiful sub-municipality of Houwaart. After a trip along the north side of the Walenbos, we reach the center of Houwaart. In the center of this beautiful sub-municipality, you will find the old town hall, the boys' school, the statue of Den Hagelander, the rectory, the Sint-Denijs Church with the honorary cemetery of the pilots who crashed in WWII. We climb through the vineyards on the southern slope of the Houwaartseberg. Op de Wijngaardstraat we walk past the wine bench with a panorama towards Tielt, a renovated long-facade farm, the municipal well, and the birth forest. We land at wine producer Danouise, where a glass of wine can be tasted. Sturdy shoes or boots are recommended.
