Augustin Hadelich plays Bruch - Marc Albrecht, Augustin Hadelich
Tue, 2 Mar 2027 · 20:00
Koningin Elisabethzaal, Antwerp
€17–79
Augustin Hadelich is a phenomenal violinist and a welcome guest at the Antwerp Symphony Orchestra. Previously, he shone alongside the orchestra in music by Sibelius and Prokofiev; now he treats the audience to the delicious First Violin Concerto by Max Bruch. Although the German romantic composer stood in the shadow of Johannes Brahms his whole life, his violin concerto was immediately wildly popular. Time and again, violinists wanted to play that one concerto, to the frustration of Bruch, who had much more in store. Ah, the passionate, lyrical concerto is simply blood-beautiful: who can resist it? Marc Albrecht also leads the orchestra through three works by Richard Strauss and waves goodbye to the Antwerp audience with this concert before he leaves on his first tour as chief conductor together with the orchestra. A milestone concert not to be missed that is bursting with romantic splendor and symphonic bravado.
